John Muir Middle School, established in 1922, is located on the southside of Los Angeles. It is the home of the Cougars. It offers a Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) magnet and a School of Advanced Studies to its students. In 2018, it had approximately 933 students and a student/teacher ratio of 19:1.
