Phineas Banning High School, founded in 1926, is located in Wilmington. It is the home of the Pilots and rival of Carson High School. This school has a variety of programs that students can choose to participate in, such as a College Incentive Program, a Firefighter magnet, a Global Environmental Science Academy, a Maritime Agriculture Tourism Cuisine Hospitality Academy (MATCH), a Global Safety and Security Academy, an International Trade Academy, a Pilot Academy of Technology and Health Science (PATHS), and more! In 2019, approximately 1,994 students were enrolled in this school and there was a student/teacher ratio of 24:1. Many alumni from this school, such as the Olympic Bronze medalist Tonie Campbell, have gone on to have successful athletic careers!
