Robert E. Peary Middle School, established in 1956, is located in Gardena. It is the home of the Huskies. Its students can join their Math and Science magnet, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, and Gifted and Talented (GATE) program. In 2017, 1,332 students were enrolled and the school maintained a student/teacher ratio of 18:1.
